Drawdown Food Sector; Agriculture partners in Caledon are demonstrating many Drawdown Solutions including Regenerative Agriculture -#11 DD Solution. Food is one of seven Drawdown Sectors where we can make a difference to reverse global warming….
ecoCaledon Drawdown helps individuals and community members in Caledon be a part of Project Drawdown. Project Drawdown provides us with a road map of how we can reverse global warming together!
See which of the 100 solutions you can help implement at home, in your community, and at work.
“Drawdown assembles and presents the best available information on…each… climate solution in order to describe their beneficial financial, social and environmental impact over the next thirty years”(www.drawdown.org)
There are 7 Sectors and 100 areas to focus your energies on. Each of these solutions will reduce the amount of CO2’s in the atmosphere to ultimately reverse global warming by 2050. Drawdown’s 7 Sectors include: Energy, Food, Women and Girls, Buildings and Cities, Land Use, Transport, Material, and Coming Attractions.
- Which solutions catch your attention, turn your head and have you lean in with curiosity?
- Which ones are you already contributing to personally?
- Which are you working on with your family and friends?
- Where do you see progress locally, in the town, in your company or in organizations you participate in?
- And perhaps you can even see ways that you can influence policies at the provincial and federal levels!
It’s easy to Get in the Game… Game on!
Caledon is one of several communities across North America choosing ‘Game on!’ by taking on projects to get to Drawdown – to reverse global warming.
ecoCaledon is partnering with Drawdown Canada, the Pachamama Alliance and Project Drawdown to help Caledon citizens work together on community projects that work on specific solutions.

How can you help with the solutions in your home or community or work place?
So for example if you took the Energy Sector you could pick from solutions that include Rooftop Solar –then Investigate the idea of solar panels for your roof and maybe for any interested neighbours on your street checking out government incentives and best local suppliers together.
If you took the Food Sector you could take on Food Waste –then investigate reducing your own and finding ways to get local retailers or grocery stores to provide their extra food to a local food bank for their use while it is still usable rather than throwing it out. There are lots more solutions….
So ask yourself do you want to be a part of the solution -if the answer is yes then Drawdown is a practical way to do your part!!
Come out to a Workshop to learn more and to meet others who want to share in community solutions. There are already a number of people working on projects under energy, food and material.
