Riverdale Farm and Forest

Connection Description:

Riverdale Farm and Forest is primarily a “Community Farm” in Inglewood run by “second Career farmers”.  Their web site describes their farm as ” growing the food on our table – vegetables, fruit, poultry, and pork – and having enough to share with our local community at the weekly market. It also means providing learning and awareness opportunities through summer student employment, documentary and film nights, art classes and seminars. They focus on using renewal resources wherever possible.

You can buy a pre-paid farm account to get fresh vegetables each week; May – December (community support agriculture model–CSA).  Riverdale also offers workshops on food, farming, nutrition and more.  One recent example this spring/summer was a workshop on how to grow nutrient dense food.
